I'll overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I will really want to hurt him. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making huge earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the usual confrontation, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly happening.
